Fintwist, Corpay Prepaid and iConnectData — Explained Clearly
Fintwist, Corpay Prepaid, Comdata and iConnectData can appear in the same payment ecosystem, but they do not all serve the same user or the same job.
That distinction has become especially important because Fintwist is now Corpay Prepaid, while the Fintwist name is still visible in places such as the mobile app and older cardholder materials. At the same time, Comdata continues to maintain iConnectData, commonly abbreviated ICD, as an account-management environment used by businesses and program administrators.
[PUBLICATION NAME] is an independent publication created to make that ecosystem easier to understand.
We are not Corpay, Comdata, Fintwist, an issuing bank, an employer, or an official customer-support service. We do not provide an imitation login form and we never ask readers to send us card numbers, passwords, PINs, MFA codes or banking credentials.
Start With the Account You Actually Need
If you received a payroll or prepaid card and want to check your balance, review transactions, manage your card or understand how to access your money, you are generally dealing with the cardholder side of the ecosystem.
The current Corpay Prepaid site describes PayCard as a payroll solution for wages and says cardholders can manage money through the Fintwist app, use their card for purchases, access cash through ATMs and, where supported, transfer money to a bank account.
Start with our Fintwist Cardholder Guide if that sounds like what you are trying to do.
If you work in payroll, finance, fleet administration or program administration and need tools for cards, reports, account activity, invoices or payments, you may instead be looking for iConnectData.
Comdata describes iConnectData as a self-service account-management portal. Available functions depend on the user’s permissions and product configuration, but documented areas include card maintenance, reporting, account activity, invoicing and payment tools.
Read our iConnectData guide for that side of the system.
Why Fintwist and iConnectData Appear Together
The two names overlap because businesses administering Fintwist payroll-card programs have historically used iConnectData for program-management tasks.
Comdata’s Fintwist documentation directs administrators to Manage > Branded Debit inside iConnectData for functions including creating cardholders, assigning or ordering cards, loading funds, reviewing loads and retrieving program reports.
That does not mean an ordinary cardholder should use the employer-facing iConnectData interface for every card task.
Our cornerstone guide, Fintwist and iConnectData Explained, maps the systems by audience so you can identify the correct path before entering credentials anywhere.
Fintwist Is Becoming Corpay Prepaid
Another source of confusion is branding.
The current Corpay Prepaid website explicitly states that Fintwist is now Corpay Prepaid. Corpay now presents PayCard and FlexCard within its prepaid offering. Yet the Fintwist mobile application remains available under the Fintwist name, and Comdata’s Resource Center still contains extensive Fintwist and iConnectData documentation.
That makes older search terms useful rather than obsolete. Someone searching for “Fintwist” may be holding a card with that branding, using the Fintwist app or following employer instructions that have not yet adopted every newer Corpay term.
Our Fintwist to Corpay Prepaid guide explains what the rebranding does—and does not—mean.
Practical Guides for Cardholders
Cardholders usually need answers to practical questions rather than a history of payment technology.
Our cardholder coverage focuses on questions such as:
- how the Fintwist app and cardholder web access differ from iConnectData;
- how activation works and why the activation code can depend on the employer program;
- where to check balances and transaction history;
- what to know before transferring funds to another bank account;
- why fee schedules should be checked against the specific cardholder agreement;
- what to do when a card is lost, stolen or associated with an unfamiliar transaction.
The official Corpay Prepaid site currently directs cardholders to its support resources and lists 888-265-8228 for cardholder assistance. Always verify contact information on your card or the current official website before sharing account details.
Practical Guides for Employers and Administrators
iConnectData is broader than a Fintwist cardholder portal.
Current Comdata documentation shows that ICD can expose different menus according to permissions and account configuration. Its documented capabilities span card maintenance, transaction activity, reportQ reporting, invoices, account credit information and payment functions.
For organizations using the Fintwist/Corpay prepaid ecosystem, we separately cover the administrator workflow in Managing Fintwist Paycards in iConnectData.
That article owns employer operations. The general iConnectData article owns the portal itself. Keeping those two questions separate avoids turning every page into another version of “iConnectData login.”
Payroll Cards Are Also a Wage-Payment Question
A payroll card is not merely an app or login.
The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau describes a payroll card as a prepaid account arranged through an employer to receive recurring wages. Federal rules also provide important consumer protections, including the principle that an employer cannot require a worker to accept only the employer’s chosen payroll card; another permissible payment option must be available. State requirements can add further rules.
Our Payroll Card vs Direct Deposit guide explains the practical differences without assuming that one payment method is automatically best for every worker.
Independent Information, Official Accounts
[PUBLICATION NAME] helps readers understand terminology, relationships and workflows. It does not replace the official account system.
When you need to enter a username, password, PIN, bank account number, card number or other sensitive information, leave this publication and use the verified official service.
That separation is intentional: explanation belongs here; authentication belongs with the service provider.
